Age Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
Dulang is built for children aged 0 to 5, with the active participation of a parent or guardian. We believe that screen time used with intent, curated content and adult company is a legitimate learning tool, especially for acquiring a second language in early childhood. This policy explains our point of view and how the app was designed to support families.
1. Who Dulang is for
Dulang is an app aimed at babies and children aged 0 to 5. Sign-up, configuration, and operation are the sole responsibility of an adult, usually a parent or other legal guardian. The child does not create an account, does not type personal data, and does not freely browse the internet through Dulang.
2. Our view on screens in early childhood
We believe that exposing a child to audiovisual content, when carefully chosen and mediated by an adult, is a powerful developmental tool. Music, repetition, imagery and context help the child's brain associate meaning to a new language naturally. That is exactly why Dulang exists: to offer a safe environment where contact with English happens with quality, instead of an open platform's algorithm deciding what the child watches.
3. The more quality, the better
For us, the key point is not the absolute amount of minutes in front of a screen, but the quality of what is being watched and the balance with the rest of the routine. Time well spent on a well-crafted video, with vocabulary, melody, and context designed for the age group, is different from time spent on random content with fast cuts and no educational intent.
4. Balance with other activities
Even though we advocate for intentional use of screens, Dulang is designed to live alongside everything that belongs to childhood: free play, playing with other kids, physical activity, reading aloud, contact with nature, proper sleep, and quality time with family. Screens do not replace any of that. Fit Dulang into specific windows of the routine, not as continuous background activity.
5. You are in control
The guardian decides how long each session lasts, the best time of day, which child profiles use the app, and which content is available. The parental PIN protects sensitive settings and prevents the child from enabling features without your authorization. The app has no infinite feed, no child-facing algorithmic recommendation, and no attention-trapping patterns.
6. Curated content, no ads
The entire catalog is manually selected by our curation team, focused on age-appropriate videos suitable for teaching English. We do not show ads inside the app and we do not track the child for commercial purposes. The audiovisual content continues to belong to its creators and source platforms.
7. Child privacy and protection
We do not collect personal data from children. Favorites, playback history, and preferences remain on the device. For full details on data processing, data subject rights, YouTube API usage, subscriptions, and security, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
8. Practical recommendations for the family
Set predictable times for the English session, stay nearby whenever possible, repeat words and sing along, comment on what appears on screen, and extend learning into the real world (objects at home, games, books). The more the child hears the adult repeating what they saw, the faster vocabulary consolidates.
9. Updates to this policy
We may revise this document to reflect product improvements or regulatory changes. The most recent version will always be available on this page and in the app's menu.
